Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting, the Reporting Analyst is an integral role in collection and analysis of data for external reporting; preparation of external financial statements; and preparation of management analysis and discussion. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare the annual and quarterly consolidated financial statements including cash flow and note disclosures in accordance with IFRS for external users
  • Prepare the annual and quarterly MD&A in accordance with IFRS for external users
  • Assist in the preparation and review of other external reports, including the AIF and the information circular.
  • Ensure high quality and timely reporting and analysis to Senior Management/Executive team

Regulatory Responsibilities and Controls 

  • Assist with internal control compliance and testing 
  • Liaise with external auditors and ensure that any regulatory or audit issues are promptly and appropriately resolved
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting and policy research as well as assisting with the implementation of new accounting standards

Other Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement ways to automate recurring reports and eliminate any remaining manual reports.
  • Collaborate with other areas of finance and divisional teams for analysis of financial results
  • Perform other duties as required

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, required
  • 3-6 years accounting experience, required 
  • CPA designated accountant, required
  • Experience in drafting public statements and disclosures, required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft word and excel
  • Experience with Workiva Wdesk considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory
  • Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills: task prioritization and effective time management
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees management and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
